Character Info

As I’m sure you know (or may have noticed), Loki isn’t usually a woman. At least, I hope you’ve noticed this (if you haven’t, maybe look into seeing an optometrist? Just a thought). That said, on this blog s/he is decidedly a she. In order to better fit her into the site, though, I’ve been drawing from both the comic form of Loki and the Loki from the film (which doubtless you’re all more familiar with).

This page basically exists to catch you up to where in the time stream Lady Loki is from, why she’s still a lady, and what she shares in common with the Loki you know/love/hate/love to hate/ etcetra.

Firstly: She shares part of her timeline with film-Loki. The real difference between the comics and film there is that in the comics Loki grew up knowing that he wasn’t Odin’s son, and in the film it has to come as a shock to him. I’m keeping that bit, because I love the angst. I’m an angst addict. Beware. So my Loki had that same rude awakening, but that’s as specific as I’m getting with the information there. Since Avengers hasn’t been released and I don’t know entirely what’s planned, I’m leaving it non-specific. Safe to say she shares a lot of emotions/experiences in common with film Loki, though.

The next arc you need to know about is the whole deal with Ragnarok (event, not character)… that was basically explained here by The Lady herself. You can find the download of the actual comic for the part involving Lady Loki here, courtesy of Doran (it’s a great read, totally worth it, but all you really need to know is that she’s the greatest goddamn thing).

Okay, so summary:

  • Shares childhood/adolescent experiences with film-Loki
  • Is generally more villainous than film-Loki, since s/he’s older, and if more like comic-Loki in that respect
  • Is a woman now because of the events following Ragnarok
  • Is technically inhabiting a body belonging to Lady Sif, but since she’s been displaced in time, who’s to say whose body it truly is?
  • Probably plans to cause some ruckus, being the HBIC that she is.

END TOTALLY LONG-WINDED EXPLANATION

Anyone who fully read that has my congratulations, jiminy cricket.
